The Builders’ Registration Board has created this privacy statement to demonstrate its commitment to the protection of privacy and personal information of its customers. This statement is based on the best practice guidelines of the Privacy Commissioner in compliance with the Department of Premier and Cabinet’s guidelines for State Government Websites.
Any personal information provided to the Board via its website will only be disclosed in accordance with this policy. By using the website and its related resources, you consent to the terms and conditions and the collection, use and disclosures as provided in this statement.
Information That May Be Collected
IP addresses
The Board may collect and use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with its server and to administer its website. An IP address is a number allocated to your computer by your Internet Service Provider once you commence service with them. The Board may use your IP address to gather broad demographic information, such as your domain name registry and the country you are located in. The data collected is considered confidential.
Cookies
Cookies are small script placed on your hard drive during your visit to all websites, including the Board’s. The browser stores the message in a text file. This is sent back to the server each time the customer’s browser requests a page from the server.
The aggregate data generated by cookies may be used only for the purpose of improving the Board’s website and its site-related services for its customers. The data compiled through cookies is considered confidential.
How to manage cookies

Email
If you subscribe to the Board’s e-newsletter your email address and any other personal information you provide will be maintained on a mailing list. The Board may use the email address to send out information bulletins. The Board will not disclose your personal information to another source for the purpose of marketing.
Security
The Board's website has security measures in place to protect against loss, misuse or alteration of the personal information it collects and maintains.
The Board operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. The Board's data security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary. Any particularly sensitive information, such as a credit card number collected for a payment, is encrypted during transmission. The Board does not store credit card details collected from a transaction done via its website. Credit card details are processed via Camtech, a secure independent payment gateway.
